Kahawa Estate took out five of the seven coffee classes at the 2012 North Coast National show in Lismore. Kahawa Lava won the “Plunger” class, while Kahawa Magma won the “Espresso Style” and “Milk Based Coffee” classes. Kahawa Estate also won the “Red Cherry On a Branch” and “Roasted Whole Bean” classes.
“This is the first time we have entered our coffee into the North Coast National, and we couldn’t be happier with the results,” said Jos Webber, roastmaster at Kahawa Estate.
The Northern Rivers region has over 30 coffee growers produces 500 tonnes of green bean. Represented by the Australian Subtropical Coffee Association, the region is well known for producing the highest quality coffee in Australia.
